Born in Northern California in 1952, I have lived most of my
life in the Bay Area. My professional life follows a theme of
teaching and supporting others to succeed. I began my career
as a swimming coach and high school teacher. Later, I worked
in the hi-tech industry doing support and training. I also lived
in Japan, working as a manager to bridge the gap between US
and Japanese culture.
Many men I meet describe feeling lonely, unconnected, and
unloved. To me, the joy and fulfillment we experience in our
lives is directly connected to the quality of our relationships and some feeling of connection to a larger community.
I have been involved in the LGBT community since 1995 when
I began volunteering at the Pacific Center in Berkeley. I have volunteered at the Center
in many capacities, including facilitating an HIV men’s
peer support group and serving on the board of directors.
I have over 25 years experience helping others through support,
teaching, training and mentoring. I'm a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF) and a graduate of the ICF certified Professional
Coaching Course from New Ventures West. I received certification as a Somatic Coach from the Strozzi Institute. I have an M.S. degree
in Computer Science and live in Oakland, CA. |
